Supportive Community Living Lodges
Welcome to community living where you will meet friends and caring staff!
Stay independent and worry free in a comfortable, bright and spacious community setting. All of our seniors’ supportive living lodges come with a single bed, night table, dresser and a private bathroom. If you would prefer to use your own furniture you are welcome to do this too.
Your private room will also give you space for a small sitting area and all rooms are tastefully decorated with matching bedspread, drapes and bed linens. Our all inclusive rent provides you will weekly room cleaning and linen service.
Our red seal chefs prepare home cooked meals that are visually appealing, appetizing and delicious. Your monthly payment includes three meals a day and snacks when you want one. Meals are all served in a central dining room where you can relax and enjoy yourself with your neighbors and friends. Through out the residence you will find cozy places to curl up to read your favorite book or larger places where you can join others in an activity.
Internet is available so you can keep in touch with your family and friends and some residences have private dining rooms you can book for that special family occasion.
Many residences have movie nights on a big screen TV and there are a variety of activities which are planned and organized by our experienced recreation coordinators. When you visit one of our residences, request a copy of our monthly social events calendar to see what we have to offer.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for Supportive Housing (lodge) accommodation must be:
- Sixty-five years of age or older. In the case of couples, one applicant is required to be 65 years of age or older and the other must be at least 60 years of age.
- A Canadian Citizen, landed immigrant, refugee sponsored by the Government of Canada, or individuals who have applied for refugee or immigration status and for whom private sponsorship has broken down.
- Functionally independent or functionally independent with assistance of community based services. Functional independence is defined as physically, mentally and emotionally able to look after their own personal needs and be able to interact socially with other residents. Applicants who require constant medical supervision would not qualify for residency.
Functional independence means:
- Managing personal medications.
- Maintaining appropriate personal hygiene.
- Getting from their room to the Dining Room for meals.
- Ability to maintain their room in a tidy condition.
- Living amicably with fellow residents and staff.
- Willingness to follow residential agreement.
Rental Rates and Services
Monthly rent is calculated at 30% of your gross monthly income plus the cost of housing services to a maximum cost which is adjusted annually. Housing services include three meals per day, snacks, weekly housekeeping and linen service, and activities. A laundry room is available for your personal laundry at no extra charge. There are always staff available 24 hours per day. There is an additional fee for cable TV and parking.

Visitor Meal Prices
Invite your family and friends to join you for a delicious meal, snack or beverage in the comfort of our dining room. Our menus are reviewed on a regular basis by registered dieticians and prepared under the leadership and supervision of a licensed chef. Small lodges with fewer tenants include Meadowlark, Pleasantview, Queen Alexandra and Virginia Park. Our larger lodges include Beverly, Kiwanis, McQueen, Ottewell and Rosslyn Place.
